The recovery program aims to educate, encourage, empower and enrich young women with self-worth, skills and the confidence to lead successful lives within the community, and reach their potential.
Women’s and Infants Research
The Women and Infants Research Foundation (WIRF) is an Independent Research Institution and charity, formed in 1976 focused on the major health issues that affect newborns, reproduction and women’s health at all ages.
WIRF is the charity of King Edward Memorial Hospital, helping to raise vital funds for equipment, new initiatives and providing support to facilitate essential research studies into women and infant health.
It’s not compulsory to fundraise for our charities, however they have some great initiatives that we thought you may like to help with!
Women’s and Infants Research Fund – Baby Bundles Project
Over 6,000 babes are born at King Eddy’s Hospital each year. Many newborns arrive in an emergency and some without essential baby wear and blankets they need. The Baby Bundles program exists to support WA families who need a helping hand during their newborns first few weeks of life.
Each Baby Bundle Costs ONLY $25 – this covers the cost of materials, wool, fabric and vests. Our dedicated team of volunteers do the rest, giving their time and talents knitting and sewing the beautiful babywear and blankets.
Please help give WA Babies a great start in life by supporting the Baby Bundles Program – You can support the program by purchasing a Baby Bundle Donation Voucher when you register online for the SunSmart Women’s Triathlon! Help us reach our target by buying 200 Baby Bundles!
Esther Foundation – South West Intensive Camp
The Esther Foundation takes up to 50 young women to the South West for 7 days for an intensive recreation, building of self-esteem and team building skills camp. The trips include diving, snorkelling, bushwalking, swimming, outings, music, drama, team building and sightseeing [including Busselton Jetty, Cowaramup, Yallingup, Meelup etc].
The camp offers important times of personal development which enables the women participating in the Esther programme to benefit on a holistic level in the beautiful surrounds of the South West.
Help us send the Esther Foundation on their South West Esther Camp by making a donation of $25 for camp supplies! The SunSmart Women’s Triathlon hopes to reach $4000 to help fund the South West Camp.
